Hour of Code via Hopscotch

Hopscotch is a free iPad app that introduces programming concepts to children between the ages of 8-12. The Hopscotch interface is relatively simple and offers kid-friendly and visual approach to programming using pre-built blocks, similar to MIT's Scratch program. An advantage to using Hopscotch includes the ability to share creations with the app community.

Hopscotch in Action: Students in a makerspace create and program their own math game to reinforce negative numbers, decimals or x/y coordinates on a plane.

Digital Learning Platform: Hopscotch is an interactive application in which students create structures and share authentic tasks and products with others within a learning community.
