8th grade ELAR teachers, Pam Starnes and Karen Bland, designed a student-centered lesson to provide students with interactive options to apply their knowledge of the synthesis TEK, 8.10D. The students chose from different Infographics sites to show what they researched. Bland and Starnes were thrilled when the CBA results showed a dramatic increase in this standard. Bland explained, "Pam and I are so proud of the kids and are committed to moving forward with this same principle: we choose the standards, but the students choose the content."
These teachers are amazing! They have embraced new technology as a way to increase student-centered learning all year.
