Smithfield 1st Graders Share Work on SeeSaw

First grade students are using SeeSaw digital journals to share classroom work with an authentic, real world audience. To introduce SeeSaw, students created a ChatterPix reading contractions during work stations and emailed the assignment to me. Then I uploaded the videos to each student account in SeeSaw. Not only were the students able to share their work with peers and their parents, I was also able to use the videos for quick and easy report card assessments.

Since our first venture into both ChatterPix and SeeSaw, students are eagerly uploading pictures of station assignments with voice explanations, capturing photos of math work during workshop and using the digital journal to publish writing. In addition to creating digital portfolios, the students are just as excited to view each other's work and show their support with likes. "SeeSaw is our class Facebook!"
