Measuring Mass - 5th Graders in the Science Lab at Smithfield Elementary

Taryn Perkins, 5th Grade teacher at Smithfield Elementary, designed a wonderful lesson combining analog and digital tools in the science lab.  Every student had the opportunity to complete a lab using a classic pan balance.  Then they had two virtual (website) labs using a digital website with activities for measuring mass with a pan balance.  This created great balance of hands on and technology integrated activities.  The students were excited and engaged!
