Books and Reading at West Birdville Elementary

When your teacher or librarian recommends a book in a creative way you just can't wait to get your hands on it and READ, READ, READ. Enter the creative idea of West Birdville Elementary librarian, Kathy Grupe, and her amazing teachers. Teachers are promoting good reads by crafting book character pumpkins. 

Teachers who take the time to create and allow Mrs. Grupe to display in the library all earn a $5 gift card to the upcoming book fair. Students then judge the book character pumpkins and teacher winners receive additional gift cards to use at the book fair to increase their classroom libraries. 

Of course, now these are some of the most sought-after reads.

Next year, Mrs. Grupe says that the contest will be extended to student submissions.
