Creating Breakout experiences doesn't have to be hard

We've often heard that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. As an English teacher, I often had my students practice new sentence structures by sentence imitation among other things. Most of us prefer to see it done first before we feel confident in trying it ourselves. Creating Breakouts is no different.  Breakout EDU's main site, https://www.breakoutedu.com/, has many resources for teachers to use, iterate and adapt for their own classroom needs.

Mr. Brouse, Math teacher at Haltom Middle School, used a template for a breakout game and adapted it to fit his math curriculum. His students were absolutely engaged in the task at hand.
Mr. Brouse told me that creating with the template was easier than expected, and he feels like the experience will help him create more breakouts in the future. Breakout EDU can help you get started so that the task is not so Herculean as it might have been otherwise.   Don't let the thought of creating engaging activities from scratch intimidate you into not trying it. If you think you might need some additional help, contact your Digital Learning Specialist who will be more than happy to help you make the activity memorable.  The Breakout site also now has templates for digital breakout activities as well.  Don't wait.  Start working on your breakout today!
